I had a new student in my ESL class tonight at the Norman Public Library. She moved from Spain to the U.S. when she was 60 years old. She then taught Spanish for 15 years in CA before moving to OK only 3 months ago. Sitting next to me during our group discussions, she wore a beige coat, pink flower-covered scarf, and a full smile. When she talked, she spoke not only with her voice but also with her eyes and hands. She joked that she's undergoing too many changes at her age - but I, in my 25th year, hope to be as ambitious as she is now and 58 years from now. She's 83.
